Part-Time Studies

In the winter term 2014/15, the MSc Computer engineering will be offered as a part time study program for the first time. This is an offer to those students, who cannot complete a full time study program for individual reasons, such as a full employment, the upbringing of a child, the care for a relative, or a chronic disease.

Content

Content and courses in the part time study program are identical with those of the full time program. However, the standard period of studies is extended to 4 years. In the part time program, the regular term is counted as a half term with to half terms (WS and SS) making one subject related term. Modules remain unmodified. When beginning your part time studies, you have to agree on an individual schedule of studies with your course counsellor to ensure optimal progress in your studies.

Admission

Prospective students have to apply for the regular full time study program M.Sc. Technische Informatik. After admission, the reasons for your wish to take part in the part time program have to be explained in a personal interview with your study guide. A written approval by the course counsellor is required for enrolling in the part time program. Students already enrolled can file an application for participating in the part time program to their course counsellor during the re-registration period. Part time status will always be approved for one study year, i.e. two following terms.
